Mingo County Has Sixth Highest Unemployment Rate in WV
The latest unemployment figures for the month of June have been released. All of the counties in our listening area have unemployment rates above the state average of 4.5 percent.
Mingo County’s rate of 6.4% is the sixth highest in West Virginia. That is an increase of four-tenths of a percent from the previous month.
McDowell County has the highest unemployment of 7.9%.
Other unemployment figures for counties in our listening area:
Logan 5.1% increase of one-tenth of a percent.
Wayne saw an increase of three-tenths of a percentage point to 4.6%.
Boone County saw an increase of one-tenth of a percentage point to 4.8%.
Monongalia has the lowest unemployment rate of 3.1%.
