State Orders Closure of Hazard Facility
Mountain Horizons of Hope, a facility that provides services such as group and staffed homes for the mentally handicapped has been ordered to shut down at the end of the month. The facility lost its Medicaid funding after an investigation conducted by the state found multiple problems at the Perry County Facility. State investigators say that the facility had no documentation for more than $33,000 in personal spending money for 19 clients whose accounts were managed by the staff.
