Massey Energy Held Environmental Awards Banquet.
Massey Energy Honored the winner of its third annual Green Miner Award and Best of Class winners for calendar year 2006 at an awards banquet in Charleston. The Green Miner Award is awarded to the Massey group with the best environmental compliance. Massey subsidiary Mammoth Coal Company, located in Kanawha Co, won the award.
Pike County’s Sidney Coal Operation located at Big Creek received an award for Best Processing Plant.
Massey Energy produces coal in Kentucky, West Virginia and Virginia.
