Pike County’s Relay for Life will take place this weekend at Bob Amos Park. The 13 hour event will get underway 6pm this Friday and will run until 7am Saturday morning. All money raised will stay in Pike County for cancer research. Last years event raised a record $197,000. Thelma Vincent, chair for the Pike County Relay says this year’s goal is $225,000. Vincent is hoping for 65 teams to participate. Early figures show that $45,000 has been raised thus far. The survivors walk will begin this year’s event. Residents can purchase a luminary until 8pm,and then the luminary ceremony will be conducted at 10pm
