Police in Floyd County are investigating after human remains were discovered over the weekend. According to a spokesman for the State Police, the remains, which were found in the Right Beaver area of Floyd County, have been there for years. Part of the remains were sent to the State Medical Examiners office in Frankfort where an autopsy will be performed and officials hope that the body may be identified. State Police believe the remains to be that of a woman that was murdered though they offered no further details. Officials hope to be able to identify the remains within a week as the investigation continues by the Kentucky State Police.
