Soldiers May Be Home For Christmas
Following months of return flights to Fort Campbell, a base official said the goal is to have the last of the deployed soldiers with the 101st Airborne Division home nearly a month before Christmas. Cathy Gramling spokeswoman for Fort Campbell says they’re expecting redeployment to wrap up before the end of November. So far, nearly 17,000 soldiers have returned from their yearlong deployment overseas to Iraq and Afghanistan and another 3,000 remain. Three more returning flights are scheduled for Tuesday.
