U.S. Senator Joe Manchin Disappointed

WEST VIRGINIA....
U.S. Senator Joe Manchin says he's disappointed that two attempts to repeal the 1099 provision of the health care bill have died. Two separate amendments, the Johanns amendment 4702 and the Baucus amendment 4713, would have ended the requirement for small businesses to file 1099 forms with the IRS on payments for goods and services of more than $600. The measures needed 67 votes to move forward in the Senate. Manchin. who co-sponsored the Baucus amendment, says he will continue to try to get rid of the 1099 requirement. Manchin says he's committed to working with Republicans and Democrats who share his concern for jobs and small businesses and the need to repeal this provision from health care reform.
